Cfadisk Inf

USB Local Disk DriverThis cfadisk driver will allow Windows to see a USB drive as a local, hard disk. Cfadisk USB Local Disk Driver allows a user to partition and format USB drives like regular hard drives.

Cfadisk Inf

Download Zip:

Suppose we are going to install a driver on the 64-bit system. To edit it, open cfadisk.inf in any text editor. We need the sections cfadisk_device and cfadisk_device.NTamd64.

[cfadisk_device]%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,IDE\DiskTS64GCF400______________________________20101008[cfadisk_device.NTamd64]%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,IDE\DiskTS64GCF400______________________________20101008

[cfadisk_device]%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,IDE\USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_Linux&Prod_File-CD_Gadget&Rev_0000[cfadisk_device.NTamd64]%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,IDE\USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_Linux&Prod_File-CD_Gadget&Rev_0000

If the driver is installed on a 32-bit system, you have to download the corresponding archive, unzip it and open cfadisk.inf for editing. Find the section [cfadisk_device]:

[cfadisk_device]%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_LEXAR&Prod_JD_LIGHTNING_II&Rev_1100%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_JetFlash&Prod_TS1GJF110&Rev_0.00%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_&PROD_USB_DISK_2.0&REV_P

%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_LEXAR&Prod_JD_LIGHTNING_II&Rev_1100%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_JetFlash&Prod_TS1GJF110&Rev_0.00%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_Linux&Prod_File-CD_Gadget&Rev_0000

As others hwve said this guide doesnt work. At least not anymore. In my case with windows 10 it says that it cant find a file. It does not specify what kind of file, but I noticed that the cfadisk.sys file fas an ascii path in it: D\programs\cfadisk\objfree\i386\cfadisk.pdb in one version and c:\winddk\fdrv\objfree_wiin7_amd64\amd64\cfadisk.pdb in another version. Is that the file Windows cant find? Who knows. Maybe this still works in windows 7 but not in windows 10.

Getting a flash drive recognised as Local not Removable. The key is to impose a driver upgrade on your flash hardware. Extract cfadisk.sys and cfadisk.inf. Hitachi Microdrive driver - cfadisk.sys is a filter driver that allows windows to see your USB Flash Drive as a Fixed Disk. This helps you to partition and access the various partitions of your USB.

i followed the guide for cfadisk.sys and got to the last step: select cfadisk.inf -> when i choose it and click OK i get this pop up: The chosen map does not contain a compatible softwaredriver device. If the map contains a driver, control that it is developed for windwos x64- based systems.

10.Open cfadisk.inf in the directory you unzipped the microdrive filter to. Edit the section called [cfadisk_device] so that rather than containing 11 lines, just have one line. The line begins with: %MicroDrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,

Does anyone know what I can place inside the cfadisk.inf to cater for *ANY* usb/sd drive? Are there any generic strings I can replace the guides example of Disk&Ven_USB2.0&Prod_CardReader_SD0&Rev_0100 with?

The steps are straightforward and "The Island" of hosts that offer the XPEfilter can seem to move, I'm not implying this is "rapidshareware" or piratebay stuff, hardly, but there is a compact and often sub 500kb zip file called "XPEFilterDriver" and "HitachiMicrofilter" that is pervasive across the web and has a cfadisk.sys and cfadisk.inf file.

locate the removable drive and upgrade the driver and select the Have a disk options, locate your modified cfadisk.inf file, (you're allowed to consolidate all of your USB drives into one INF file) and select the list of disks displayed after choosing your customized INF.

From the downloaded archive, open the cfadisk.inf file using Notepad. How to do this is also written above. Find the partition and reach the line %Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTORDISK&VEN_&PROD_USB_DISK_2.0&REV_P.

If the computer works with a 64-bit bit depth, you will have to go to the folder with the program. In it, find the cfadisk document, find the chapter cfadisk_device and cfadisk_device.NTamd64. After the slash, you will need to paste the copied equipment number. If the computer is running on 32 bits, the cfadisk_device chapter must be used. Find the line DISK&VEN_&PROD_USB_DISK_2.0&REV_P and insert the media number instead.

Let's move on to the driver. Unpack it to start anywhere, and then, using any notepad, open the cfadisk.inf file. Find the item there and in the very last line, starting with the word USBSTOR, we replace everything with what we copied in the device manager. Here's how it'll turn out:

%Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_LEXAR&Prod_JD_LIGHTNING_II&Rev_1100 %Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_JetFlash&Prod_TS1GJF110&Rev_0.00 %Microdrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_Linux&Prod_File-CD_Gadget&Rev_0000

1) extract the files from the archive (only cfadisk.sys and cfadisk.inf are needed) 2) modify cfadisk.inf to include the hardware ID for your particular microdrive, see step 11 of the following. ignore the portions in the step that doesn't have to do with editing cfadisk.inf. . . .3) update the driver for the microdrive per step 12
