The first step in diagnosing the problem is to identify which converter came with your RV. It is highly unlikely that it is the type that was removed so you would want to look at your paperwork to see if the title lists the converter that was installed or a brand or model name is listed. The trailer should have a few converters on it, this is normal. The smallest size converter is about 100 amps, the largest would be 300-400 amps. The smaller they are and the higher the amps, the more you can use on the batteries. If the converter is the old style with the computer, then you will need to open it up to look at the charges. If you dont have a converter on hand, we can get them in a few days if you need us to do some troubleshooting. Some newer trailer manufacturers are including a 12-volt fuses on the distribution center, if this is the case, you will need to replace those as well as the fuses on the converter, if it has a fuse.
Inverters can only operate what is plugged into them. They are not meant to power the rest of the house, unless the RV was specifically designed to be a generator for that, that depends on the level of voltage required to run the generator. Most generators are around 110-110 volts which means the generator needs to step down to 120-volts and the plug in does the same, which is why the converter is designed to run at 120-volts. If you plug a dishwasher into the generator it will put out 110 volts for the dishwasher, and that is why you need the converter or if you plug the dishwasher into the RV directly, it will run at 110-volts and not draw power from the RV with its battery. You would have to go to the line circuit to get 110-volts to run the dishwasher, it would run off the RV battery directly. The RV battery feeds the converter, which then puts out the higher voltage of 120-volts to the dishwasher and the RV. 3d9ccd7d82
